Institute Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
Terms and Conditions
Please note that whilst you are at the Institute you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of other people. Any equipment used must be suitable for the intended use and any work at height, a minimum of two people must be present.
You are also responsible for the behaviour of others and for any damage that may happen to both the building or the furniture and other items of property. Please leave it as you found it. You will be expected to make good any damage that may be caused.
A full refund will be made for cancellations made no later than 48hrs to when the booking is scheduled to start. Any cancellation after this time will forfeit their payment.
Blisland Parish Council nor the Management Committee shall be held liable for any loss, damage or theft of your items in the Institute. Please ensure you have suitable insurance.

Using the Village Institute
Thank you for using the Institute. We are required by the Parish Council and for personal Health and Safety reasons to provide some instructions for using the building.

The Institute will be opened and locked by a member of the Institute Committee based on your booking times

There is a toilet through the door to the left of the kitchen area. Please leave it as you find it. There is also a toilet outside to the left of the building.

There is only one fire exit and that is the main door. Please communicate this.

There are two fire extinguishers provided by the door, please only use if it is safe to do so and you are confident of their use;

For an Electrical fire, then only the CO2 extinguisher.

For any other type of fire, use the foam extinguisher.

Avoid trailing leads and other trip hazards for users safety
IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE;
In case of a fire the first action is to safely evacuate the building.
Then raise the alarm, by calling the fire brigade (999). You should also alert the people staying in the cottage (Churchgate Cottage) next door.
Fire extinguishers are available but only use if safe and you are confident to do so.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE;

Turn off the water heater if used.

Take all rubbish with you and don’t leave it in the waste bin.

Make sure the door to the storeroom and toilet is left open.

Ensure the wall heaters are turned off.

Wash up any used crockery and cutlery and put it away

Tidy up the kitchen area, the sink and draining boards.

Give the floor a sweep if necessary.

Turn the humidifier back on if you have turned it off.

Please close the door behind you. If someone is not already there to lock-up then they will shortly.

When you contact us
The information you provide (personal information such as name,
address, email address, phone number, organisation) will be processed and stored to enable us to contact you and respond to your correspondence, provide information and/or access our facilities and services. Your personal information will be not shared or provided to any other third party.

Information Security
Blisland Parish Council has a duty to ensure the security of personal data. We make sure that your information is protected from unauthorised access, loss, manipulation, falsification, destruction or unauthorised disclosure. This is done through appropriate technical measures and appropriate policies. Copies of these policies can be requested.
We will only keep your data for the purpose it was collected for and only for as long as is necessary. After which it will be deleted.(You many request the deletion of your data held by Blisland Parish Council at any time).
Children
We will not process any data relating to a child (under 13) without the express parental/ guardian consent of the child concerned.
Access to Information

Information Correction

Rights Related to Automated Decision Making and Profiling
Blisland Parish Council does not use any form of automated decision making or the profiling of individual personal data.
Conclusion:
In accordance with the law, we only collect a limited amount of information about you that is necessary for correspondence, information and service provision. We do not use profiling, we do not sell or pass your data to third parties. We do not use your data for purposes other than those specified. We make sure your data is stored securely. We delete all information deemed to be no longer necessary. We constantly review our Privacy Policies to keep it up to date in protecting your data.
